Located in Lancaster, Texas, the Lancaster Public Safety
Building is a contemporary structure that houses the
police and fire departments, which serve the citizens of Lancaster
and portions of Dallas County. Designed by Perkins + Will, Dallas,
the building helps serve a burgeoning community because Lancaster
has grown from a small population of 10,500 in 1970 to
a bustling community
containing nearly 35,000 residents in 2007.
To create a space with a cool, contemporary feel, distributor
National Panel Systems Inc., Wexford, Pa., installed 11,490 square
feet of 22-gauge Profile Series Concept Series CS660E with
Microseam Corners wall panels in Silversmith with a smooth Sundance
Mica coating from CENTRIA, Moon Township, Pa. The Profile Series
panels are Cradle to Cradle certified at the Silver level. CENTRIA
also supplied 5,294 square feet of its 20-gauge Profile Series IW
Series- 10A vertical wall panels in Silversmith with a smooth
Sundance Mica coating and 6,452 square feet of its 0.0320-gauge
FormaBond 8-mm Route & Return aluminum composite material wall
panels in Silversmith with a smooth Sundance Mica coating. The
metal panels were chosen for their seamless-appearance and
weathertight construction. Phillips/May Corp., Dallas, served as
the general contractor.
