Environmentally friendly library

Posted 06/1/2009

Designed to have a "Florida vernacular" look, the South Regional Library in Naples, Fla., is warm, inviting and environmentally friendly. The new $12.5 million, 30,000-square-foot (2,787-m2) facility utilized 75,000 square feet (6,968 m2) of 24-gauge 0.028-inch (0.7-mm) preweathered Blue-Gray Double-Lock standing-seam roof panels from RHEINZINK America Inc., Woburn, Mass.

Schenkel & Shultz Architects, Raleigh, N.C., was the architect; DeAngelis Diamond, Naples, Fla., was the general contractor; Metal Tech-USA, Peachtree City, Ga., was the fabricator; and Murton Roofing, Port Charlotte, Fla., was the installer.
