The
7,380-square-foot (686-m2) Flowers Medical Offices in Grove City,
Ohio, utilizes a StarMark wall system in Shell White from Star
Building Systems, Oklahoma City, in addition to dryvit and brick.
The builder chose BattenLok HS in 16-inch- (406-mm- ) wide panels
for the "X" center section of the roof from MBCI, Houston.
Utilizing a pre-engineered building allowed for the long spans and
structural support necessary to develop the open clerestory design
over the center section of the building. The community restricts
the use of steel siding on building exteriors, but by designing the
Star structure to support the loads from conventional exterior
finishes, the Star building provided quick erection for the
client.
Maverick Builders Inc., Grove City, was the builder and general
contractor; Star Erectors Inc., Grove City, was the steel erector;
and CDI Design Group Inc., Grove City, was the architect.
