Hallidie Plaza Elevator Screen, San Francisco

Due to the architect's thoughtful design approach,
the three-stop elevator at Hallidie Plaza adds to San Francisco's
impressive list of landmark structures. The $430,000 elevator owes
its sculptural appearance to the pair of metal screens that
surround it that were fabricated from stainless steel by Diamond
Perforated Metals Inc. Stainless steel was also used for the door
frames, screen wall battens, shaft cladding and floor grating.
