LSU Indoor Practice Facility, Baton Rouge, La.
As a practice center for the Louisiana State University Tigers
in winter, the LSU Indoor Practice Facility in
Baton Rouge, La., allows the coaches and players
to hone their skills on the gridiron in a climate-controlled
facility. To create an enclosed space, the facility required 600,
24-gauge, 110-foot-long continuous length 238T roof panels with
multi-span clips in Sandstone, along with 155 panels in various
lengths ranging from 22 to 40 feet. The 18-inch-wide panels were
roll-formed on-site by Houston-based Architectural Building
Components' 238T rollformer, Archzilla. Completed in June 2011, the
project has a 2:12 roof pitch. The facility was designed by Jerry
L. Watts & Associates, Baton Rouge, and J. Reed Constructors
Inc., Baton Rouge, served as the general contractor.
