A Metal Showcase

Last month, the metal construction industry converged in Atlanta for METALCON International. The industry trade show provided the opportunity for people working in the industry to get some face time with the product manufacturers and suppliers. Feedback on the show was positive from everyone involved, giving hope to the continued increase in work for the construction industry.

During the show, the Metal Construction Association (MCA) honored the winners of the 2013 Chairman's Awards. Chosen from MCA member projects that were submitted for the Metal Architecture Design Awards earlier this year, the awards showcase outstanding building projects from MCA members. This year's winners were chosen by a panel of professional architects, and honor projects in nine categories and two honorable mentions: Commercial/Industrial; Education-Primary and Secondary Schools; Education-Colleges and Universities; Municipal; Institutional; Roofing; Residential; and Overall Excellence.
