Airport inspires roof design

Architects and designers incorporated historic and modern elements including an asymmetrical, gravity curved metal roof on Citrix Systems' headquarters in Raleigh, N.C.

Architects and designers incorporated historic and modern elements including an asymmetrical, gravitycurved metal roof on Citrix Systems' headquarters in Raleigh, N.C. The roof was designed with an industrial and open look, inspired by the Raleigh-Durham International Airport located nearby in Morrisville, N.C. Fabral Inc. supplied 400 squares of slit coil in Bright Silver, which was rollformed on-site into 18-inchwide, mechanically locked roof panels for the 170,000-square-foot office building, completed in 2014. The red brick structure formerly housed a steel fabrication company and was abandoned.
