Car wash features steel construction

Fort Worth, Texas-based The Architects Barnes/Associates Inc. specified metal building products for Sparkles Car Wash, Fort Worth, for longevity in high humidity. A steel structure and panels contributed to an industrial appearance. Perforated steel panels and clear glazing added transparency.

Arlington, Texas-based AutoWash Services owns the facility and was the general contractor and installer for the 5,000-square-foot project, completed in December 2013. Charlotte, N.C.- based Vulcraft/Verco Group, a division of Nucor, supplied approximately 3,500 feet of hot-rolled steel, 11,845 square feet of metal decking and 285 square feet of metal floor decking for the car wash. The project utilized Vulcraft/Verco Group's HSS columns and beams, A36 embed plates, angle A36 beams, A36 plates, 3N20 decking and 1.5C18 metal floor decking.
