Lancaster Public Safety Building, Lancaster, Texas

Located in Lancaster, Texas, the Lancaster Public Safety Building is a contemporary structure that houses the police and fire departments, which serve the citizens of Lancaster and portions of Dallas County. Designed by Perkins + Will, Dallas, the building helps serve a burgeoning community because Lancaster has grown from a small population of 10,500 in 1970 to a bustling community containing nearly 35,000 residents in 2007.

To create a space with a cool, contemporary feel, distributor National Panel Systems Inc., Wexford, Pa., installed 11,490 square feet of 22-gauge Profile Series Concept Series CS660E with Microseam Corners wall panels in Silversmith with a smooth Sundance Mica coating from CENTRIA, Moon Township, Pa. The Profile Series panels are Cradle to Cradle certified at the Silver level. CENTRIA also supplied 5,294 square feet of its 20-gauge Profile Series IW Series- 10A vertical wall panels in Silversmith with a smooth Sundance Mica coating and 6,452 square feet of its 0.0320-gauge FormaBond 8-mm Route & Return aluminum composite material wall panels in Silversmith with a smooth Sundance Mica coating. The metal panels were chosen for their seamless-appearance and weathertight construction. Phillips/May Corp., Dallas, served as the general contractor.
