Metal Panels warm up public buildings

Eufaula, Ala.-based American Buildings Co.'s roof system increased thermal efficiencies at the Nordegg Public

Services Building in Nordegg, Alberta, Canada, which has an older-style roof overhang and supports, and an exterior stairwell that resembles an old mine shaft entrance.

American Buildings' Shadow Panel metal wall panels in Taupe Sand and a double-roof system brought thermal efficiencies on the shop building to a full R-24. Standing seam 360 roof panels in Zincalume and a single slope metal building system were also used in the project, completed in June 2012. Genivar, Red Deer, Alberta, was the architect, and Phoenix Construction Inc., Lake Forest Park, Wash., was the builder.
