Moon Township, Pa.-based CENTRIA's Formawall Dimension Series, Profile Series Exposed Fastener panels and EcoScreen perforated screen wall were selected for the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, Plainsboro Township, N.J., for aesthetics, performance, sustainability and value.

Moon Township, Pa.-based CENTRIA's Formawall Dimension Series, Profile Series Exposed Fastener panels and EcoScreen perforated screen wall were selected for the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro, Plainsboro Township, N.J., for aesthetics, performance, sustainability and value. EcoScreen Perforated Screenwall provides an airy aesthetic that helps control light, provide ventilation and blend portions of the building with the surroundings. Exposed Fasteners were chosen for flexibility and negative wind load properties.

The $523 million, 636,000-square-foot, hospital was completed in 2012. It was clad with 20,496 square feet of 22/26-gauge Formawall Dimension Series 2-inch Vertical metal wall panels in Champagne Gold with a smooth finish and Sundance Mica coating; 7,114 square feet of 22/26-gauge Formawall Dimension Series DS60 2-inch Horizontal metal wall panels in Champagne Gold with a smooth finish and Sundance Mica coating; 18,339 square feet of 22/26-gauge Formawall Dimension Series 2-inch Horizontal metal wall panels in Champagne Gold with a smooth finish and Sundance Mica coating; 13,550 square feet of Profile Series Exposed Fastener Panels Econolap 3/4-inch in Champagne Gold with a smooth finish and Sundance Mica coating; and 24,749 square feet of Eco- Screen Perforated Screenwall in Champagne Gold.

The University Medical Center of Princeton includes 237 patient rooms, 10 surgical suites, a diagnostic lab, cardiac labs, a radiation oncology suite with linear accelerators and related support space. The emergency department includes 28 patient rooms, doubling the size of the previous department to encompass comprehensive digital imaging and diagnostics. The emergency department includes specialty areas to provide pediatric, behavioral health, cardiac cauterization and vascular laboratories.

RMJM, New York City, and HOK Architects, New York City, were the architecture firms for the project, and Turner Construction, Somerset, N.J., was the general contractor.
