The architecture firm drew inspiration from City of Hope's evolving research and environment. The self-healing façade was designed to be warm and reminiscent of natural, reddish tones.

Dissimilar Metal Design supplied its DMD Weathering Steel panels for the 7,000-square-foot project, completed in February 2015. The project was designed to obtain LEED Platinum certification and included a new building with museum exhibition and event space alongside an outdoor pavilion. City of Hope's 110- acre medical and research campus is located near Los Angeles.
