Architectural Building Components, Houston, has entered into a strategic alliance with Woo Jung Corp. to expand its unique standing-seam metal roof systems into additional international markets. With the agreement, Korean roof and wall panel manufacturer Woo Jung will manufacture and install Architectural Building Components’ 200 and 238T Series roof systems on projects in Asia’s Far East District, including South Korea, Guam, Saipan and China. “This alliance is a milestone for us as we take our top-notch roofing systems beyond U.S. installations,” said Charlie Smith, president of Architectural Building Components. “We are also very excited that Woo Jung is the company that will oversee the expansion and installation of our systems in the Far East. They are routinely involved in extremely difficult and complex projects and we are proud to be associated with them.” An exploration of the partnership began five years ago when Woo Jung purchased a rollforming machine from Architectural Building Components that would enable them to manufacture the company’s 200 Series roofing panels in South Korea. “Because of the extensive testing and quality of Architectural Building Components’ roof panels, we want to actively promote and install them in our regional markets,” said Hye Rang Lee, president of Woo Jung Corporation. Woo Jung is currently installing Architectural Building Components’ 200 Series roof systems in South Korea, Saipan and Angola. They have also already been installed on many commercial-industrial facilities as well as on a variety of United States military projects located in Korea.
