Kentucky Small Business Development Center State Director Becky Naugle Ph.D., announced Big Ass Fans, Lexington, as an inductee into the third annual Pacesetter Business Recognition Program. This program recognizes high performing businesses that are changing the economic landscape of Kentucky. Big Ass Fans received the 2010 Pacesetter Award for adding jobs, introducing innovative products, demonstrating community involvement and for exhibiting a commitment to create economic opportunities in Kentucky. Big Ass Fans also opened the world’s first LEED Gold R&D lab in 2009 to conduct full fan performance testing including air velocity profiles, fatigue testing of fan assemblies and components, and prototype builds of the newest fan innovations.
“Big Ass Fans is a shining example of what small businesses can achieve with motivation, determination and a vision,” said Dr. Naugle. “It’s an honor that a business of this caliber chooses to operate in Kentucky.”
