Firestone Building Products Co. LLC[1] announced the release of its 2013 Sustainability Report. The second annual report reviews the company’s manufacturing and business processes, as well as its product portfolio, to measure the effectiveness of corporate social responsibility efforts.
Firestone Building Products created the report to assess its commitment to working with internal and external stakeholders to be a more environmentally friendly business. To reach its goals of lowering energy consumption, waste and emissions, the company has set goals to:
The Firestone Building Products Sustainability Report fulfills the requirements of the Global Reporting Initiative’s (GRI) Application Level C. GRI is a network-based organization that has pioneered the development of the world’s most widely used sustainability reporting framework and is committed to its continuous improvement and application worldwide. The GRI Guidelines set out principles and indicators organizations can use to measure and report their economic, environmental and social performance.
