Metl-Span, Lewisville, Texas, has entered into a licensing agreement to distribute Lutz, Fla.-based Roof Hugger’s patented sub-purlin systems. Doug Pickens, vice president of marketing for Metl-Span, said, “This is an exciting venture for Metl-Span that plays a key role in our expansion into the retrofit market and our green building commitment. Utilizing our highly energy-efficient insulated roof and wall systems, Metl-Span can be considered the proven retrofit alternative for building owners who need to substantially increase their building’s thermal performance.” Roof Hugger Inc. is equally excited to work with Metl-Span. Mark James, vice president, sales and marketing, for Roof Hugger said, “This is the first time that a components manufacturer has provided metal-over-metal retrofit systems like these. Existing metal buildings that are often under-insulated can now be upgraded to meet new energy saving requirements.”
