Years ago, metal roofing was industrial looking with exposed fasteners and lots of corrugations. With so many designs and colors to choose from, architectural standing-seam roofs have become today’s standard. The decorative appeal makes it ideal for the residential market and architectural buildings alike. While this type of roofing has the greatest aesthetic appeal, there are some challenges that it brings. In winter climate zones, snow retention is usually the biggest issue while the other is how to install roofing components such as service walks, satellite dishes, HVAC equipment, pipes/conduit, signage and photovoltaic solar modules. There is a beefy 3/8-inch screw for attaching roofing accessories on the top of the clamp. In preliminary list off tests, the clamp held 2,400 pounds with 1,600 allowable pounds.
