The roster at Pittsburgh-based SYNTHEON Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of NOVA Chemicals Inc., recently filled two critical positions.
Jeremy Urban, a structural engineer at SYNTHEON, previously spent more than eight years with the civil engineering firm, Whitney Bailey Cox & Magnani. Urban served as a project structural engineer, providing consultation to architects, contractors and owners. Urban developed a broad range of experience with different building types and construction material, including extensive experience and specialization with multi-story wood condominium, apartment and dormitory buildings. Urban is a Licensed Professional Engineer registered in both Pennsylvania and West Virginia.
In his new role, Urban brings a vital set of skills that will help SYNTHEON expand its capabilities to deliver in-house design and engineering services to its clients. Urban’s industry expertise will benefit customers across product lines and around the globe, who seek to erect sustainable structures using SYNTHEON products.
Betty Cruz has joined SYNTHEON as its marketing and public affairs specialist. Previously, Cruz worked for nearly five years in the public relations industry where she managed communication efforts for various multinational corporations including Latin American outreach for Kodak, Iomega and Nintendo, as well as U.S.-Hispanic media relations for Crest toothpaste. In addition to senior-level account management and media relations expertise, Cruz brings extensive experience in media tour execution and spokesperson message training to SYNTHEON.
In her new position, Cruz will oversee corporate communications and marketing, governmental affairs, and global outreach. She will also lead intersectoral partnership building with nonprofits/NGOs and the philanthropic community on behalf of SYNTHEON.
