[1]VIP views in Kansas City, Mo.’s $850-million Power & Light District[2]—a nine-block downtown stretch—are unlocked by a new, elevated platform that uses aluminum in its design. The Cordish Companies’ development features 50 unique restaurants, shops, and entertainment venues, and welcomes 9.1 million annual visitors. At the PNC Patio, the new, enhanced stage provides a comfortable VIP area in this dynamic hub for dining and entertainment.
The use of aluminum in the platform’s extruded frame and its integration into the guardrails enable this space to perform well over time in its outdoor setting. The area offers a safe, immersive, and pleasant way to experience the many events, including Kansas City Live![3]
Since opening in 2008, the district has welcomed more than 95 million visitors and played a key role in revitalizing downtown Kansas City, hosting everything from concerts and sports watch parties to annual festivals.
[4]Within the district, the PNC Patio serves as a versatile event space with seating options for both general visitors and VIP guests. To support this level of activity, the VIP stage area includes a custom platform and railing system with integrated platforms and guardrails, as well as drink rails, allowing patrons to enjoy their experience with their hands free, all while avoiding cluttering the platform with tables. The result is an elevated, secure, and functional area that improves sightlines and guest comfort during performances and events.
[5]Designed for flexibility, these modular railing and seating solutions support a wide range of events, from everyday social gatherings to high-energy experiences like concerts and Royals and Chiefs watch parties, while maintaining safety and comfort in a lively environment and helping the space adapt to the evolving demands of a high-traffic entertainment destination.
