The American Iron and Steel Institute, Washington, D.C., has published AISI S230-07 with S2-08, the Standard for Cold-Formed Steel Framing—Prescriptive Method for One- and Two-Family Dwellings, 2007 Edition with Supplement 2. Supplement 2 was developed in 2008 to revise and clarify certain wall bracing provisions. The full document, AISI S230-07 with S2-08, provides prescriptive requirements for cold-formed steel framed detached one- and two-family dwellings, townhouses, attached multifamily dwellings and other attached single-family dwellings. This new version supersedes the previous 2006 edition. = The standard is a resource for architects, engineers, builders and code officials who design, inspect or review plans for residential steel construction. The full document is available for purchase at www.steelframing.org.
