Polyglass USA, Fernley, Nev., has been acquired by MAPEI SpA Italy. The sale was concluded on Sept. 30. Headquartered in Milan, Italy, MAPEI is a privately held, international organization that has more than 6,000 employees. Its annual sales approach $2.5 billion. As part of the acquisition, MAPEI has made organizational changes. Andrew “Andy” Hastings has been promoted to chief executive officer of Polyglass. He is responsible for all Polyglass business operations in North America. Natalino Zanchetta has been assigned a position as vice president and member of the board of directors of Polyglass. Zanchetta focuses on product development for the Polyglass line of products—capitalizing on his experience with Polyglass formulas and processes. In other company news, Polyglass recently opened Polyschool, a training facility in Winter Haven, Fla. The Polyschool facility is dedicated to educating industry professionals about the various roof systems that Polyglass manufactures for commercial and residential applications. The school’s half-day and full-day seminars focus on general information about Polyglass, including company history and products. Its two-day and three-day sessions cover more detailed product information, hands on installation training and business development tools.
