The Intern Development Program Advisory Committee—the program was put together by the American Institute of Architects and National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, both based in Washington, D.C.— has selected Carrier Johnson Architects, San Diego, and JG Johnson Architects, Denver, as recipients of the Intern Development Program 2008 Outstanding Firm Awards. The 2008 Firm Awards recipients include BRR Architecture Inc., Merriam, Kan.; Centerbrook Architects and Planners, Centerbrook, Conn.; Hendon & Huckestein Architects P.C., Birmingham, Ala.; James Hundt Architecture P.C., Clifton Park, N.Y.; KTGY Group Inc., Irvine, Calif.; Scott & Goble Architects Inc., Tulsa, Okla.; Seay, Seay, & Litchfield, Montgomery, Ala.; and Williams Blackstock Architects, Birmingham.
The jury was comprised of representatives from the various organizations that participate in the Intern Development Program Advisory Committee: David Hinson, FAIA, representing the AIA; Jaclyn Toole, Assoc. AIA, representing the AIA’s National Associates Committee; and Tony Vanky, representing the AIA Students. The awards aim to honor not only the firms with the most remarkable dedication to the program, but also those that meet baseline criteria.
