The American Institute of Architects[1] (AIA) the Architects Foundation[2] and the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture[3] (ACSA) today announced the availability of “From Research to Application: Building the Bridge to Practice,” a summary of the second annual convening of the AIA’s Design and Health Research Consortium held April 12-13 in Alexandria, Va.
The AIA and the ACSA announced the formation of the Consortium in December 2014, naming 11 architecture schools and schools of public health as charter members of a group which works to advance university-led research linking design and health. Since then, the consortium has grown in size to 17 members.
“We are working to create a bridge between the academy and practice and help the design firms access to this research in ways that are easily-consumable and readily-applicable for practice,” said Suzanna Kelley, FAIA, AIA Managing Director of Strategic Alliances and Initiatives. “This document includes real-world strategies, tactics, tools and tips that will help our university teams think differently about how they engage architects, foundations, and government partners.”
