Metal composite material panels are featured in Metal Architecture’s November 2020 issue.

Rollfab’s AlumaKor 6-mm fire-retardant (FR) metal composite material (MCM) panels have two 0.02-inch/0.5-mm-thick aluminum skins and an extruded 0.2-inch/5-mm-thick, polyethylene core. The core and skins are bonded together with a thermally active tie-layer. Top skins can be coated with a two- or three-coat PVDF coating using Kynar or Hylar resins.

3A Composites’ ALUCOBOND PLUS metal composite material (MCM) finishes in the Natural Collection’s Element Series come in 16 colors. Alucoil Larson material composite material (MCM) panel is produced by two metal sheets of aluminum, stainless steel, copper, brass and zinc for architectural façade cladding. The panels allow for façades to be ventilated, semi-ventilated or airtight.

Fairview’s Vitrabond ZCM is a zinc composite material cladding with a zinc skin on the face side of a 4-mm-thick composite material. In partnership with RHEINZINK America Inc., Fairview offers six ZCM finishes: Blue Grey Zinc, Blue Zinc, Charcoal Zinc, Graphite Zinc, Red Zinc and Slate Zinc.

Kovach’s Kovabond metal composite material (MCM) is manufactured by bonding two sheets of 0.02-inch-thick aluminum sheets to a fire-retardant core. It comes in 6-mm- and 4-mm-thick sheets and widths including 50 inches and 62 inches. Attachment systems include KRS-225–Route and Return with 5/8-inch reveal, KCP–Exposed Fastener with 3/8-inch reveal and KFW–Flush Wall with hairline reveal. Kovabond is ICC-ES compliant.

Mitsubishi Chemical Composites America offers its ALPOLIC MCM with a fire-retardant (FR) core and ALPOLIC MCM with an extruded polyethylene (PE) core with wood grain finishes. Timber Series finishes include Harvest Trail Bamboo, Mahogany, Maple, Oriental Cane, Teak, Walnut and Zebrawood.
