Metal roofing panels featured in Metal Architecture’s May 2019 issue.
Dimensional Metals’ Inter-Lock IL20 Metal Roof Panels are structural panels, which are snapped together during installation. The panels have an integral interlocking system that installs in one direction from a given starting point. A double male starter panel is offered and may be installed in the middle of a roof area to achieve a symmetrical layout.

Fabral’s Deep Rib IV exposed fastener metal panels have 4-inch-deep ribs. The minimum slope required for use is 1:12. They can be curved in the factory with a minimum radius of 15 feet. Deep Rib IV panels are 24 inches wide. The maximum length is 32 feet for roof panels and 45 feet for wall panels; their minimum length is 6 feet. Options include inverted panels and perforation.

Garland’s R-Mer Shield standing seam roof system has a 2 1/16-inch vertical seam with an extruded aluminum clip and top rail system for wind uplift performance. The metal roof panels have one-piece clips to accommodate thermal movement and factory-applied hot melt sealant that is isolated from the clips. There is a 1/2-inch clearance between R-Mer Shield panels and substrates for ventilation and to reduce the possibility of condensation. They are available in steel, aluminum, zinc, copper and stainless steel, and can withstand wind speeds more than 200 mph.

MBCI’s BattenLok HS structural standing seam roof system is mechanically field-seamed. The panels have a 2-inch-tall vertical seam, and are available in 12-inch and 16-inch widths. BattenLok HS metal roof panels can be installed directly over purlins or bar joists, and can transition from roofs to fascias. They panels do not require a solid substructure for support.

McElroy Metal’s Maxima panels are a mechanically seamed vertical leg standing seam roof system. Maxima, Maxima 1.5 and Maxima ADV are available in a variety of widths, ranging from 12 inches to 24 inches. They can be roll formed flat, striated and with pencil ribs. Maxima 1.5 and Maxima ADV can be curved. Maxima panels meet requirements for fire rating (Class A), wind uplift (UL 580, FM 4471, ASTM E1592), air filtration (ASTM E1680), water infiltration (ASTM E1646), and impact resistance (UL 2218).
