Rolling, bifold and walkthrough doors featured in Metal Architecture’s September 2021 issue.

Hörmann’s Speed-Guardian 5000s are high-speed, rigid panel, roll-up doors. Several models are available including doors with and without insulation. Panels are guided into a circular bracket or horizontal or vertical tracks. Options include vision slats and a light curtain built into the guide tracks. Sizes go to 21 feet, 4 inches square.

IBeam’s sliding doors have aluminum frames and exterior latching systems with auto jamb latches. Trolleys are adjustable in/out and up/down. The trolleys are designed not to bind, drag or come out of adjustment. Options include a face-mount or top-mount track system.

Midland Door’s architectural bifold and hydraulic lift doors can be finished with a variety of materials including frosted and etched glass, cedar siding and aluminum. Architectural bifold doors have a header-mounted operating system; lifting mechanisms and straps (3 inches or larger) are behind uprights. Architectural hydraulic doors have cylinders at the sides. For safety, optional safety switches stop doors if something interferes with operation.

PDL offers an 18-gauge hollow metal walkthrough door. It comes with an adjustable weather seal, extended header insulated frame and ball-bearing hinges with non-removable pins. The door also has an ADA-approved aluminum threshold and commercial through-bolted Grade 2 lock.

Plyco Corp.’s SDR1600 1 1/2-inch complete slide door package is for single slide doors with standard size openings to 144 square feet or double doors to 288 square feet. The SDR1635 3 1/2-inch complete package is for large sliding doors with heavy-duty components. The SDR1635 complete package is for heavy-duty slide doors to 256 square feet or double doors to 576 square feet.

PS Industries offers customizable metal bi-part sliding doors. Sizes and designs are customized with single-slide, bi-part sliding or swing/slide combinations. One standard size is 36 inches by 84 inches.

Schweiss Doors’ bifold doors have automatic strap latches; a manual latch system is also available. The bifold doors are made of structural steel tubing and are factory welded and assembled. They have top- or bottom-drive electric motors. Options include walkthrough doors, windows and remote openers.

Wayne Dalton’s models 800 HC and 800C HC (high cycle) rolling service doors have a springless barrel design, floor-level controller with built-in, non-resettable cycle counter, digital readout with a time delay and self-close timer. A high cycle motor has a built-in braking device and direct drive gearbox. Slats are available in galvanized, painted steel, stainless steel and aluminum. Model 800 HC’s slats are available with partial or full fenestration and 800C HC is insulated. Four standard polyester finishes are offered: Beige, Brown, Gray and White, as well as 200 powder coatings.
