The 83,796-square-foot (7,785-m2) Paul David Athletic Training Center in Massillon, Ohio, features a full-size turf football field, storage room, vestibule, motorized drop-down nets for dividing the space, batting cages, golf cages, running lanes, filming platforms and wall padding.
The project utilized Memphis, Tenn.-based Varco Pruden Buildings’ continuous truss framing system. Additionally, Varco Pruden supplied clear span frames with Z purlins and girts. The project also utilized a Zinc Gray standing-seam metal roof from Varco Pruden. The facility, which is used by Massillon City Schools, was completed in August 2008. Schumacher Construction Co., Massillon, was the design-builder for the project.
