Building showcases commercial design

Cornwall, Ontario, Canada-based Bourgon Construction built its 7,000-square-foot office and warehouse with a pre-engineered metal building supplied by American Buildings Co. All Weather Insulated Panels supplied insulated metal roof panels in Pearl Gray and insulated metal wall panels in Slate Gray for the project, completed in October 2014. The building was designed to showcase materials that can meet or exceed energy code requirements and stimulate interest in more attractive commercial and industrial buildings.

The office block features 6-inch insulated metal roof panels that were left exposed in the main reception area to show how the system works and the finish it provides. The warehouse block is clad with 5-inch and 3-inch insulated metal wall panels, and the entire structure is exposed. Extensive glazing including high, clerestory windows and a mix of cladding materials were utilized.
