Byzantine flavor Christ Kamages at CJK Design, San Francisco, used 3,000 square feet
(279 m2) of Permanent Copper Stainless panels from Millennium Tiles, Elkhorn, Wis., to dress up Ascension Cathedral in Oakland,Calif. The permanent copper sheets were folded into various sizes of flat lock seam panels and used to grace the walls of the church.
The sheets won’t lose their copper look and, depending on the lighting conditions, the hues will vary from a chocolate brown to light copper. The colors preserve the Byzantine flavor and give the church a feeling of strength and power. Advanced Roofing Technology, Santa Ana, Calif., installed the panels.
