When old asbestos diamond-shaped shingles began to fail on Cornerstone Bible Church, metal shingles were chosen as a replacement. The shape of the metal shingles resembles the original diamond-shaped asbestos shingles. Also, the metal shingles complement the church’s natural stone walls. Prior to the building’s opening in 1931, the stone walls were built with large stones mined in rock quarries by members of the church and brought down from mountains above citrus farms in Glendora.

Howard and Sons Inc., general contractor, removed the asbestos shingles and, over a solid wood deck, installed 5,172 square feet of ATAS International Inc.’s 0.032-inch-thick aluminum CastleTop embossed roof shingles in two colors in a variegated pattern: Rocky Grey and Charcoal Grey.
