Two aviation hangars and an office building were constructed for CrownAir Aviation, a fixed base operator (FBO) at Montgomery Executive Airport. A curved arch was built at an entrance to the two-story, 16,452-square-foot office building. The hangars house an additional 14,000 square feet.
To construct the arch, JMS Interiors Inc. installed Flex-Ability Concepts LLC’s 16-gauge, 3 5/8-inch Flex-C Trac and 16-gauge Flex-C Angle. Garrett McKillip, estimator at JMS Interiors, says his company’s crew maintained the radius dimension with Flex-C Trac’s and Flex-C Angle’s Hammer-Lock tabs, which were hammered into place to embed them into the web and secure the shape.
The airport remained open throughout construction. The project included a parking lot, landscaping, hardscaping, sewer lines, fire lines, water lines and bio-filtration areas.
