Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates has become one of the most important hubs in the Middle East and is continuously expanding to better manage its ever-increasing number of passengers. At the heart of the most recent expansion is Terminal 3, a spacious underground facility billed as the largest airport terminal in the world, and the connecting Concourse 2, an impressive above ground departure hall that resembles a giant cocoon.

Contributing significantly to the high-tech, upscale environment of the new addition is more than 2.3 million square feet (213,670 m2) of metal ceiling and wall systems, all of which were designed and manufactured by Armstrong Ceiling and Wall Systems, Lancaster, Pa. The Armstrong metal ceiling and wall products utilized on the project included MetalWorks RH200 Custom Faceted aluminum ceiling planks, MetalWorks Concealed Beveled steel lay-in ceiling tiles and MetalWorks Custom steel wall panels.

Construction of the facility was awarded to a joint venture of three companies: Al Habtoor Engineering, Dubai, Murray & Roberts, Bedfordview, South Africa, and Takenaka Corp., Osaka, Japan. The metal installer was Chadwick Technology, Forestville, Australia. The architect was Le Groupe Aeroports de Paris (ADPi), Paris.
