Hogan/Mayo House, Del Mar, Calif.

by Jonathan McGaha | June 8, 2011 12:00 am

Inspired by abandoned Army Quonset Huts or old hay barns, the Hogan/Mayo house sits on a lot completely surrounded by palm trees, eucalyptus and jacarandas. With that imagery in mind, the architect wrapped the house in corrugated steel and topped it with a curved metal roof from AEP Span. For the roof, AEP Span supplied its 7/8-inch-deep Nu-Wave corrugated metal roof panels and for the walls, a narrower 2 1/2-inch corrugated profile with 1/2-inch-deep corrugations.
