To build McHenry High School’s West Campus building, a complex design and color pattern of insulated metal panels (IMPs) were used. To finalize the custom panel modules, panels were field measured after the building was built. Panels in 31 modules and five colors give the building its distinct orange and gray design.

Riddiford Roofing Co. installed CENTRIA’s 3-inch-thick Formawall Dimension Series IMPs in Chromium Gray, Dove Gray, Midnight Bronze, custom Special Orange and custom Forceful Orange. For column covers, Riddiford Roofing Co. installed Arconic Architectural Products’ Reynobond metal composite material in Cadet Gray and Pure White.

Jonathan Gouris, assistant project manager at G&L Associates Inc., the panel dealer, says, “The canopy/soffit that forms the crown of the building was challenging in that it required the use of panels that were bent and mitered in multiple directions. These longitudinally and transversely bent panels allowed the corners of the canopy soffit to blend in seamlessly with the rest of the panels.”
