Alexander City, Ala.-based Central Alabama Community College’s 17,243-square-foot research and media facility is a two-story facility notable for its contrast between brick and precast façade, and Eufaula, Ala.-based Architectural Metal Systems’ (AMS) Loc Seam reflective white roof panels. The white roof panels highlight the many hips and cuts on the roof.

Marietta, Ga.-based Eastern Corp. supplied and installed sheet metal trim utilizing AMS Kynar metal, which provides greater reflectance and emissivity to meet energy regulations. Eastern Corp. received the Roof of the Year award in the 2014 American Buildings’ Excellence in Design Awards for the project, which replaced the school’s library built in the late 1960s.
