The new 254,000-square-foot (23,597-m2) medical clinic at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Fla., is a state-of-the-art, multistoried facility that was designed to improve patient access to medical services by housing all medical operations under one building. The project features 160,000 square feet (14,864 m2) of San Antonio-based Berridge Manufacturing Co.’s Double-Lock Zee-Lock standing-seam roof system in Kynar 500 Terra Cotta finish.
Nu-Tec Roofing, Tampa, Fla., utilized Berridge’s Model SP-21 Portable Rollformer to site-form the 24-gauge, galvanized steel coils to continuous-
length roof panels up to 80 feet (24 m) long. Caddell Construction, Montgomery, Ala., was the general contractor.
Construction on the $104 million project began during the last quarter of 2007, and despite the size and intricacy of the project, the clinic opened the week of Oct. 2, 2009, two months earlier than the expected completion date.
