Stott Architecture PC designed a modern barn residence in Sagaponack village in Southampton, N.Y., with 6,600 square feet of Metal Sales Manufacturing Corp.’s 24-gauge, 16-inch metal roof panels in Slate Grey. PermaTherm Inc.’s metal-skin structural insulated panels
(SIP) were installed for the roof structure. The SIPs were cleaned and painted on the inside.
The overhangs have built-in Yankee gutters with leaders in the pilasters, which are lined with polycarbonate panels and light up at night. The foundation was constructed with precast concrete walls with galvanized steel on precast stud faces. Kalwall Corp.’s translucent fenestration system was installed at all the gable ends and the skylights. The 7,300-square-foot, LEED Silver-certified residential project was completed in 2015.
