Moon Township, Pa.-based CENTRIA’s Versawall metal wall panels in white and gray provide long, uninterrupted sight lines for a smooth, contemporary exterior design on Boeing Interiors Responsibility Center, a 300,000-square-foot aircraft manufacturing facility in North Charleston, S.C. CENTRIA’s Profile Series Liner Panels add a layer of insulation that minimizes heat loss and gain. The mix of the white and gray colors adds depth and dimension to the exterior of the plant, completed in January 2012.
BRPH Companies Inc., Melbourne, Fla., was the architecture firm, and Patillo Construction Corp., Stone Mountain, Ga., was the general contractor. Steel Clad, Greenville, S.C., the project’s dealer and installer, installed 62,997 square feet of 22-gauge Versawall vertical metal wall panels in Regal White with an embossed finish and Versacor coating; 3,090 square feet of 22-gauge Versawall vertical metal wall panels in Dove Gray with an embossed finish and Versacor coating; and 51,872 square feet of 22-gauge Profile Series L-2 Liner Panels in Arctic Ice with a smooth finish and Fluorofinish coating.
Additionally, Steel Clad installed 3,008 square feet of 22-gauge Formawall Dimension Series 3-inch horizontal metal wall panels in Regal White with an embossed finish and Versacor coating; 2,759 square feet of 22-gauge Formawall Dimension Series 3-inch-T vertical metal wall panels in Regal White with an embossed finish and Versacor coating; and 3,948 square feet of Formawall Dimension Series DS60 3-inch-T Horizontal metal wall panels in Dove Gray with an embossed finish and Versacor coating.
Boeing Interiors Responsibility Center is the site for 787 interior parts manufacturing including stowbins, closets, partitions, class dividers, overhead rests for flight-crews and flight attendants, video control stations and attendant modules. The center has manufacturing equipment and employees that use lean processes and tools to produce interior components to match 787 production rates at Boeing South Carolina.
