The Denver Regional Transportation District encompasses more than 2,600 square miles (665,600 hectares) and services 40 municipalities in six counties and more than 2.6 million people. The RTD recently expanded its service by adding several new light rail station bridges to the system as part of an expansion of the TREX Light Rail Southeast Corridor. Standing-seam metal roofing was chosen for all the facilities to provide passengers with comfort and protection from adverse weather conditions, while utilizing materials with minimal maintenance and being able to provide an identity for each station and its surrounding area.

Designers chose an Englert Series 2000 18-inch (457-mm) 24-gauge panel system in prefinished UltraCool Hartford Green by Englert Inc., Perth Amboy, N.J. The panels were installed over the open framing of the bridges while they were still on the ground and before being hoisted into place, allowing for minimal disruption to the major highway serving the Denver area. Each bridge has approximately 5,000 square feet (465 m2) of metal roofing installed.

Central Denver Ironworks, Denver, and Meheen Engineering, Denver, were the designers on the project. The Bauen Corp., Denver, installed the metal panels.
