The owner and designer, ML Waller of the Charette Design Group, Mandeville, La., chose fluted metal siding as an attractive and less costly way to outfi t his home. Waller used 26-gauge galvanized TF75 fluted roof decking from D-Mac Industries, Alpharetta, Ga., which featured a 30- inch (762-mm) coverage in a 36-inch- (914-mm-) wide panel. The panels were fastened with 1-inch (25-mm) woodzac screws in the fl at over 15- pound felt over 1/2-inch (13-mm) OSB siding on 2- by 4-inch (51- by 102-mm) wood framing.

The metal was chosen due to the shadow lines created with the 1-inch high ribs. The windows are double-glazed aluminum series 300 by Danvid Co. Inc., Carrollton, Texas. The stairwell walls and ceiling are 26-gauge galvanized corrugated roof panels. The stairwell entrance corners are fabricated from approximately 2,000square feet (186 m2) of 26-gauge galvanized 5v crimp roof panels from a local lumberyard.

The contractor was Loring Constructors, Mandeville, La.
