Completed in November 2007, the UDI Metal Components Building in Durham, N.C., utilized a metal building, roof and walls from American Buildings Co., Eufaula, Ala. The building consists of corporate offices and the fabrication shop for Carolina Steel Corp., Durham. UDI is a new business specializing in the design and manufacture of panelized stud walls, steel trusses and bulk steel studs for residential and commercial applications.
American Buildings supplied its Rigid Frame building system for the 12,500-square-foot (1,161-m2) building, along with its Architectural III wall panels in Surrey Beige and Standing Seam II roof panels in Hemlock Green.
The G.H. Williams Collaborative P.A., Durham, was the architect, and H.G. Reynolds Co. Inc., Henderson, N.C., was the general contractor.
