The project at Carson Creek Park in El Dorado Hills, Calif., consisted of five office buildings totaling 43,920 square feet (4,080 m2) that utilized Oklahoma City-based Star Building Systems’ DuraRib Roof Systems. Completed in 2007, the project took almost two years to finish.
Conventional construction was used in addition to using Star pre-engineered buildings. The walls were framed with steel studs and stucco, while the ends were enclosed with structural steel framed offices. CMU’s were also used throughout the construction of the buildings and the exterior walls were made up of insulated panels and cultured stone.
The five buildings utilized a SSB Single- Slope Frame with Star standard Gray Primer and featured 26-gauge DuraRib roofs in Shell White. The roofs were 11,880 square feet (1,104 m2); 11,200 square feet (1,041 m2); 6,071 square feet (564 m2); and two roofs of 6,720 square feet (624 m2) each. The builder and steel erector on the project was D.G. Granade Inc., Shingle Springs, Calif., and the architect was WLC Architects, Folsom, Calif.
