The Old West Industrial Village in Tucson, Ariz., consists of a shopping and office building, along with a warehousing facility. The 27,760-square-foot (2,578- m2) project features a metal building system, roof and walls from Mid-West Steel Building Co., Houston. The metal building is 40 by 30 feet (12 by 9 m) and 80 by 332 feet (24 by 101 m) with a 1/2:12 roof slope. The mainframe structure utilized Mid-West’s PBR roof panels, along with Mid-West’s PBU endwall and sidewall panels. A metal building system was chosen because it allows for lots of clear span space, is cost-effective and saves time. Stucco was also featured on the building’s walls. With the help of the metal building, roofing, framing and liners, this throwback to the Old West came to life.
Landmark Metal Builders, Sierra Vista, Ariz., was the general contractor, erector and roofing contractor for the project that was completed in December 2008.
