Stainless steel makes L.A. appearance

A one-of-a-kind destination for Los Angeles, L.A. LIVE is the sports and entertainment district surrounding the STAPLES Center and Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE. The campus features sports and music venues, along with nightclubs, restaurants, a bowling alley, museum and movie theaters.

Alsip, Ill.-based Doralco Architectural Metals’ COMPOSITEcore division was asked to custom fabricate dynamic staircase and elevator lobby cladding for the project. Brushed stainless steel was utilized to capture the architect’s vision for these features in the L.A. LIVE Hotel and Conference Center.

Gensler, Santa Monica, Calif., was the architect; PCL Construction, Glendale, Calif., was the general contractor; and VNSM, Carson, Calif., was the installer.
