Readers’ Choice Awards for 2018

01 Miasole Apr18

In the 2018 Metal Architecture Readers’ Choice Awards, the top product categories were metal roofing and insulation. Our readers selected six metal roofing products—mostly shingles and tiles—as products about which they wanted more information. Likewise, they selected six insulation products. The third category to get a significant amount of attention was roofing underlayment with four products selected.

As in previous years, roofing systems in general—metal roof panels, insulation and underlayment—got the most attention from our readers. When you add in solar energy products, you have a lot of activity going on up on the roof.

In fact, the solar products were ranked number one and three, indicating significant interest among architects. The Miasole High-Tech Corp. FLEX-02N Solar Module garnered the top spot. We identify the Readers’ Choice Awards by looking at the number of leads generated by every product mention in the magazine during the 2017 calendar year, not including advertisements. Of the thousands of products mentioned, we selected the 25 that generated the most leads and ranked them from first to last.

With new tariffs placed on solar panels, steel and aluminum, it will be interesting to see if next year’s list reflects a change of interest among architects. In the meantime, check out the top 25 products from 2017 as identified by our readers in the Metal Architecture Readers’ Choice Awards.
