The Ramset-I-F Insulation Fastening System from ITW Commercial Construction, North America is gaining a greater foothold in the marketplace. Architects, engineers and specifiers can learn how it is four times faster than traditional stickpin installation methods and about other substantial benefits at the upcoming American Institute of Architects convention. ITW (booth 2636) will exhibit at AIA, scheduled for May 14-16 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta.
“One of those benefits is the significant amount of time and money savings the Ramset-I-F Insulation Fastening System accumulates compared to traditional fastening methods,” remarked Ben Nolen, Business Development Manager for Ramset-I-F. “Our system handles fastening cleanly and consistently, and it can be used year-round in any kind of environment.”
The Ramset-I-F system installs to concrete, hollow block, exterior metal studs, and wood by attaching insulation in one simple step. No adhesives or cut spindle insulation anchors are necessary and it fastens directly with a wide range of applications, from foundation and block walls to heated floors, parking garages, and balcony and ceiling acoustical insulation. Users also can fasten insulation in tight spaces through pipes and sprinkler systems.
Using fasteners ranging from 1″ to 6″ that offer 211 lbs. of ultimate tension capacity, the Ramset-I-F system attaches a variety of insulation choices – Rockwool, Expanded Polystyrene, and Extruded Polystyrene – into solid masonry, hollow concrete block, and steel studs. An integrated cup improves thermal efficiency and esthetics; flanges ensure the insulation remains in place so the insulation panel won’t flip during the fastening process. A specially shaped shaft and point, designed to pierce the most difficult insulation material with little effort, reduces the friction and force required to insert the fastener into the insulation, lowering the fatigue factor for the operator.
