The Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) has bestowed its annual Safety Award to a metal roofing solutions manufacturer for zero recordable incidents. This is the fourth time S-5! has received this award for its performance in maintaining workplace safety at its Iowa Park, Tex., manufacturing facility.
Each year, MBMA recognizes member companies demonstrating exceptional commitment to safety in the workplace over the past calendar year. The 2025 award was presented during the MBMA Spring Association Meeting in Charlotte, N.C., held from May 7-9, 2025. Shawn Haddock, vice president of operations at S-5!, accepted the honor on behalf of the S-5! team.
“We are truly honored to receive this recognition from MBMA,” says Haddock. “It’s a testament to the diligence, care and commitment of our entire manufacturing team. I am especially grateful to Randy Crumpton, our safety manager, for ensuring a safe manufacturing environment. He has fostered a safety-first culture by leading safety training, implementing policies and proactively addressing hazards to reduce the risk of workplace accidents and ensure regulatory compliance.”
MBMA plays a leading role in promoting industry-wide safety standards and best practices, according to general manager Tony Bouquot. “Promoting workplace safety is one of MBMA’s most important objectives, and these awards celebrate those members who set the benchmark,” he says. “S-5! is an active and engaged member of our association, and their achievement of a full year without a recordable incident is truly commendable.”
S-5!’s Iowa Park manufacturing facility is certified to ISO 9001:2015 quality assurance standards and features advanced automation and equipment. This marks the fourth time S-5! has received the MBMA Safety Award.
