MCA adds four company members

Four additional companies have joined the Metal Construction Association, Glenview, Ill. MCA welcomes Bulk Chemicals Inc. of Reading, PA; Contrarian Metal Resources of Allison Park, PA; Everlast Roofing, Inc. of Lebanon, PA; and Marvin Sheet Metal LLC of Fife, WA. Bulk Chemicals Inc. supplies chrome free technologies to the coil coating industry. The company was founded in 1974 and acquired Progressive Chemical in 1983, adding to their product base. By 1991, the company was licensing and selling products worldwide. “We are looking forward to working with MCA in looking at new “green” technologies that will help our industry move ahead of the rest of the world in producing an environmentally friendly product,” said Robert Jerman, director of sales. “This will help the MCA member companies to hold onto and expand their market share in our global economy.” Since 2001, Contrarian Metal Resources has manufactured and distributed decorative metals specifically designed and engineered for architectural applications. Contrarian also provides metallurgical support to architects so that proper specifications for high performance architectural metals can be written. “We were encouraged to join by several customers,” said Jim Halliday, president of Contrarian. “We had been to METALCON before and had some awareness of MCA in the past. It made complete sense to me that we should be part of the process. Weighing in on the MCA agenda is both an important responsibility and a potential advantage in the process of what MCA does,” Halliday said. Everlast Roofing Inc. offers metal roofing and siding for commercial, residential, agricultural, architectural and industrial building applications. The company serves customers throughout the Northeast, Mid-Atlantic and Midwest Regions. “We’re looking forward to learning about what’s going on in the steel industry. I’ll be attending the Semi-Annual meeting in July,” said Craig Covell, president of Everlast. “(MCA) has all the industry experts that we can learn from. It makes the whole industry better and keeps Everlast on the cutting edge.” Since 2005, Marvin Sheet Metal LLC has provided all aspects of architectural sheet metal for roofing and siding to the construction industry. “I’d been to METALCON and was aware of MCA,” said Rob Hawkins, company manager. “We are interested in getting a general overview of the industry and I think the technical information is important to have. We are hoping that MCA will give Marvin an edge and help us learn and grow the company,” he said. MCA’s next national meeting is the 2010 Semi-Annual Meeting, set for July 25-27 in Pittsburgh, PA.
