NCI Holds Most IAS Accreditations in the Metal Building Industry

NCI Building Systems, Inc. announced that effective as of December 18, 2009, it completed International Accreditation Service (IAS) accreditation evaluations of all 16 of its designated metal building facilities and for all 12 of its metal building companies, earning a total of 24 certificates of accreditation. As a result of this accomplishment, the company currently has the distinct privilege of holding the greatest number of IAS accreditations by a single corporate group in the metal buildings industry. NCI leadership expressed pride in being the first company to accomplish a comprehensive corporate-wide completion of the IAS program, which has replaced the AISC MB program as the metal building industry standard for quality assurance.
“At NCI, our actions are driven by the goal of providing the utmost in quality and service to our important customer groups,” said Brad Robeson, president of the company’s Metal Buildings Divisions. “By being the first corporation to enact such a comprehensive response to this exceptional quality assurance program is a testament to that customer commitment. As a leading manufacturer, we are very pleased to give our customers the enhanced quality and confidence that the completion of such a rigorous program supports.” The new IAS AC472 Metal Building Systems accreditation program, developed jointly by the Metal Building Manufacturers Association (MBMA) and IAS, a subsidiary corporation of the International Code Council, measures a manufacturer’s ability to conform to approved construction documents, standards and practices. Through onsite assessments and ongoing monitoring by third-party inspection agencies, the IAS works to ensure that metal building manufacturers are in compliance with the requirements of Chapter 17 of the International Building Code (IBC).
