Effective July 2, 2025, contemporary design firm Ware Malcomb will integrate CBRE’s U.S. Design Collective team into its national operations. The transition will bring together professionals in architecture, interior design, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) and structural engineering, and experiential design, expanding firm’s multidisciplinary capabilities.
The CBRE Design Collective team is located in key U.S. markets including Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Miami, Dallas, Nashville, and Seattle. Their addition marks a strategic move for Ware Malcomb to broaden its geographic reach and deepen technical service offerings in both core and emerging markets.
Ware Malcomb’s president, Jay Todisco, said: “We are excited to add talented design team members who have built strong reputations for workplace design in their respective markets with a diverse array of clients, including several prominent national accounts. This infusion of exceptional talent into our interiors practice will enhance our capabilities and expand our reach.”
The addition of MEP and structural engineering starts a new chapter for Ware Malcomb, expanding the firm’s ability to offer clients even more integrated design services.
“From both a business and practice perspective, CBRE’s U.S. Design Collective team and Ware Malcomb share similar values and cultures,” said the firm’s CEO Ken Wink. “We are united in our commitment to providing high-quality design services to our clients, with client relationships being our utmost priority. Our collaborative, people-focused cultures foster a team-oriented, positive environment.”
With this expansion, Ware Malcomb is welcoming the addition of two new principals:
- Karen McCallum (Atlanta): McCallum most recently served as managing director, Americas design lead for CBRE and brings more than two decades of experience to her new role at Ware Malcomb.
- Michael Rometo (Atlanta): Rometo has been with CBRE for eight years and most recently served as managing director, buildings and systems for CBRE.
“Our shared values and collaborative cultures will ensure a seamless transition for our clients, reinforcing our dedication to high-quality design services and exceptional client relationships,” said McCallum. “Our existing clients will also benefit from Ware Malcomb’s expanded capabilities.”
The following leaders will also be joining the firm:
- Tina Lamkey: director, business operations, Chicago
- David Pugh: regional director, San Francisco
- David Sheehan: director, design, New York City
Additionally, Ware Malcomb will be reopening a San Francisco office to further serve existing Bay Area clients and enhance the firm’s footprint in the region.
